The With team decided to capitalise on this project by tying it into a tightly managed international media relations campaign. With led a team of six other agencies – in the US, DACH, Nordics, Aus/NZ, Japan, and Spain – to develop a multi-pronged piece of research from Fastly. This was designed to uncover cybersecurity pain points and provide a resource for media relations across multiple territories. This research questioned cybersecurity decision makers on their budgets, ‘false positives’ and the perception of CISOs within their businesses. Our topical and provocative angle identification meant the content ran across news stories, bylines, Q&As and podcasts securing leading IT titles for the first time for Fastly including Tech Radar Pro, Infosecurity Magazine and IT Pro. The report we produced – Fighting Fire with Fire: Cybersecurity strategies are suffering as a result of complexity – also produced a longer tail of media coverage across all 7 regions, and was used by Fastly’s marketing team as the go-to resource for cybersecurity sales material.
